The first teaser for Shujaat Saudagar's Rock On!! 2 was shared online on Monday morning.

Eight years after the success of the first film, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the sequel features most of the original cast β€” Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, and Prachi Desai β€” along with new additions Shraddha Kapoor and Shashank Arora (Titli, Brahman Naman).

In the teaser, we're told that the rock band Magik, which had disbanded again, has reunited one more time after several years. Kapoor's character, who plays keyboards for the band, also possesses vocal talents, which leads to Akhtar (the band's frontman) egging her on to go ahead and display them to the world. Arora's character is said to be the band's bass player β€” a welcome addition, since a bass guitarist is a key member of most rock bands, a detail that was ignored by the first film.

A slightly modified version of the title track from the original film is heard, featuring vocals by Akhtar as well as Kapoor. It must be said that the latter's voice β€” otherwise quite good β€” sounds distinctly underwhelming here, as though she's singing in a pitch she isn't quite comfortable in.

Rock On!! 2 releases on November 11. Watch the teaser here.
