It's hard to argue with the fact that there is no greater feeling than living on your own. The sense of freedom and independence that you get once you move out from a sheltered environment is exhilarating. The only person you are answerable to is you alone! So, if you have recently fled the nest and are living alone, here are certain things you will understand:
1. Anytime is party time! β You don't need your parents' permission to host your friends over. So whether it's a mid-week night cap or a crazy Saturday night party, you have the freedom to host an impromptu jig, anytime.

4. This also means you will have to buy the groceries and cook them too when you crave home-cooked food β Yes, instant ramen noodles seem like a good idea but you can't eat them every day, right? The day you do decide to eat home cooked food, you will have to buy the groceries, wash them and probably cut them yourself too.
5. Wake up and sleep when you want to β Because there is no one noting everything that you are doing.
6. This also means, there would be no one to wake you up if you overslept β Because since "there is no one noting everything that you are doing", you will probably be late for work almost every single day.
7. You can decorate your house the way you want too β If you want to replace all bulbs with fairy lights, you can do it without any interference.
8. This also means that you will have to buy everything you want to decorate your house with β From utensils to lights, everything will have to be bought on your own!
9. You don't have to worry about the little things, like cleaning a cupboard β You can do it when and IF you have some leisure time.
10. You will have to worry about other little things, like the plumbing and electrical fittings of your house - From your electrical wires to taps and pipes, everything will be your responsibility now.
It's safe to say that living alone is not an easy task. While on the surface of it, it may seem like all fun and games but in reality, it's so much more than that. So, take the first step in making the transaction towards living alone easier.
