All You Want To Know About Reliance Jio's 10 Tariff Plans

The breakdown of all the plans.

Yesterday, Reliance group's Chairman Mukesh Ambani made a huge announcement about declaring the Jio service open for all the consumers. Along with that, he unveiled the tariff plans for the service.

Ambani announced that there are only 10 plans at the moment starting from as low as ₹19. All of them have unlimited free voice calling and most of them have unlimited night time data usage as well. It is notable that the unlimited data offering is from 2 am to 5 am.

Even though the company has said that the voice calls would be free for lifetime, a report from BGR suggests that it is not the case. The director general of Cellular Operator's Association Of India (COAI) told BGR that the free calls are being made over the LTE network. So they are not the traditional voice calls.

Reliance Jio is an all IP based network, so when LTE network is not available it has to fall back on the 2G and 3G network of other operators which will incur a charge of 14p. It is not clear if this will be added to the bill of the consumers.

On the stage, only a few of the plans were presented but here are all the plans for the service.

Jio

The 19 plan will offer 100 MB of data for a day along with unlimited nighttime data. There are a couple of other bite-sized plans with the validity of 7 or 21 days. Interestingly, the company is giving out 100 free SMS per day in almost all the plans.

There is a component called Free WiFi data in the plan. Which indicates the use of the Reliance hotspots. Jio users can connect to hotspots that will be installed by the company across the country. The data used from the WiFi will be deducted from "Free WiFi data" limit.Reliance is planning to install 1 million hotspots across the country.

Jio will be offering discounted call rates to almost 61 selected countries with some free minutes in selected plans. All the consumers will have free premium access to all the Jio apps until the end of the next year.

It is to be noted that roaming across all the circles in the network will be free. Apart from the 4G network announcements, the company is bringing 1 Gbps internet to India very soon.
