For the third time this month, Delhi is in a state of lockdown.

Heavy rainfall lashed the national capital early Wednesday morning, leaving several areas waterlogged and reeling under heavy traffic snarls.

Massive jams have been reported from major roads in Delhi and between the capital and Gurgaon, where the police had warned people in a tweet to be "patient and disciplined" and "stick to lanes".

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State John Kerry's visits to religious sites in Delhi were cancelled due to heavy rain. This is the second time Kerry faced the rain nightmare in Delhi in the last two days.

Here are some tweets and photos to show what some parts of Delhi look like now:

Vehicles have broken down:

According to ANI reports, five people have been injured due to lightning strike in Hiranke village near Alipur area in Delhi.

US Secretary of State John Kerry, whose visits to religious sites in Delhi were cancelled, joked at IIT: "You must've needed boats to get here."

He was caught in rain-hit traffic also on Monday, when he arrived.

The app-based cab services either have no cars available, or in some areas it's available at a very high price.
