NEW DELHI -- Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma's security staff thrashed guards at a Ghaziabad housing society on Thursday, revealed CCTV footage. According to reports, the incident took place as Sharma's VVIP security personnel perceived a delay in opening the housing society gates for his convoy to pass through.

"There were about five vehicles. We told them to wait for two minutes after which the mantri's bodyguard started beating us," one of the guards told ANI. "All three of us security guards were brutally beaten up by the bodyguard."

UPDATE: After the video of the incident went viral, Sharma issued an apology. "I have suspended my security guard and have asked the Police to inquire into the incident," he said.
