Samsung launched their newest flagship device Note7 in India today after the Global launch on 2 August. The device is priced at ₹59900.

The Korean smartphone giants were top sellers in the premium segment in the last quarter thanks to their Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge phone. The company would like to maintain the lead with Note7 being launched.

The striking difference from the S series of phones apart from the S-pen is that Note7 has an Iris scanner. It will allow you to unlock the phone and secure the folders through the eye pattern.

The phone is being launched in India with Samsung's own Exynos octa-core processor. It has a 4 GB of RAM with the reports sighting 6 GB version might be on the way as well. Indian version will also be the dual-SIM version.

Note7 has a gorgeous 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display with curved edges which has been touted as the best smartphone display till now by DisplayMate. As always Samsung has managed to impress everyone with the display. The phone is protected by IP68 rating, that means it is dust and water proof.

Galaxy Note7 sports a 3500 mAh battery which is a sizable battery to carry you through a day's usage without charging. Additionally, the phone uses the USB C type slot instead of the micro USB used in the Galaxy S7 series. This will help in faster charging and data transfer.

The camera department has always been a strong point of the Note series and the legacy is being carried on this time. Note7 will be using the same camera modules used in the Galaxy S7 series. The rear camera is 12 MP with an aperture of f/1.7. The front camera is of 5 MP with the same aperture. Both the cameras will have the dual-pixel low light imaging technology.

Pre-booking of the phone starts from 22 August and the phone will be available from 2 September. Samsung will be giving out the new Gear VR for Note 7 at a discounted price of ₹1990. The buyers will get a chance to grab a JIO Sim with three months of free unlimited data.

Samsung Galaxy Note7 will be available in Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium, and Black Onyx colour variants. Unfortunately, Note7's gorgeous Coral Blue variant won't be launching in India.
