In Delhi, Free Travel For Differently-Abled Persons In State Transport Buses

NEW DELHI -- The Delhi Transport Corporation has decided to provide free ride to person suffering from any disability in both AC and Non-AC low floor buses plying in the national capital.

The decision was taken after Delhi Cabinet recently gave its nod.

The DTC has extended free travel facilities to the person suffering from any disability in accordance with Persons with Disabilities Act 1995.

An official said the facility will be available in Delhi City only.

The categories of disabled persons according to the Persons with Disabilities Act 1995 include - blindness, low vision, leprosy-cured, hearing-impairment, locomotor disability, mental retardation and mental illness.
