Here's All You Need To Know About Zhu Zhu, Salman Khan's 'Tubelight' Co-Star

Remember when Priyanka Chopra played Mary Kom? Or when actors in highly inappropriate blackface were used in Baahubali to play the parts of the monstrous and wild Kalakeyas? It doesn't take much to realise that Indian cinema has never been very sensitive about race.

So, Kabir Khan's casting of Chinese actress-singer, Zhu Zhu, to play a Chinese character in his upcoming Salman Khan-starrer Tubelight seems like a very welcome move. According to The Indian Express, the shooting of Tubelight that is set in the backdrop of the Indo-China war, is underway in Ladakh.

So, here is everything you need to know about Zhu Zhu, whose casting might just change a few things in Bollywood:

1. Zhu Zhu was born in 1984 in a military family in Beijing. Her grandfather was the Major General of the People's Liberation Army.

2. She has a major in Electronics and Information Engineering.

3. Zhu Zhu joined MTV China on 2005, where she was a VJ till she was discovered by talent scouts. She signed a deal with a music label and her first album was released in 2009.

4. Her debut film was a Chinese romantic flick called What Women Want (2010). She went on to appear in a number of Hollywood movies like The Man With The Iron Fists (2012), Shanghai Calling (2012), and Cloud Atlas (2012).

5. She is currently part of the cast of Marco Polo, a Netflix show that started in 2014.

As of now, Zhu Zhu is not only shooting for her movie but also posting some wonderful pictures of Ladakh on her Instagram...
