VIDEO: Two Kids Tied To Pole, Beaten For Allegedly Stealing Vegetables In UP

One of the children belongs to a Dalit family and the other belongs to minority community.

PILIBHIT -- In a shocking incident, two minor children including a Dalit were tied to a pole and brutally assaulted allegedly by a vegetable vendor who suspected them of stealing vegetables.

The incident took place outside the shop in Sadar Kotwali area yesterday.

The children, in the age group of 10 to 12 years, were tied with a pole and brutally assaulted by vegetable vendor, Nihal, on the suspicion of stealing vegetables from his shop, Inspector Hargovind Singh said today.

The matter came to fore when a passerby witnessed the incident and informed police which rescued the two children.

The vendor was booked on the charge of breach of peace, they said, adding the boys were handed over to their family.

While one of the children belongs to a Dalit family, the other belongs to minority community.
