A Kashmiri man has been arrested and booked by the Chhattisgarh Police on the charge of sedition under Section 124 A of the Indian Penal Code for 'liking' and forwarding 'anti-national' posts on Facebook, The Indian Express reported today.

The FIR registered against Taufiq Ahmed, an employee of a mobile phone company in Bhilai, was based on a complaint by Ratan Yadav, a Bajrang Dal worker in the city.

"The complaint was that Tausif Ahmad, who is from Kashmir, had commented on, liked and shared several things against India, such as 'India Go Back', on Facebook. One of these, for instance, was the picture of a rat being swept away by a broom," Amresh Mishra, a senior police official told the newspaper.

Earlier this year, JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar was charged with sedition for allegedly raising "anti national" slogans and for a speech he gave following an event to mark the third anniversary of Afzal Guru's execution on Feb. 9.
