Samsung Galaxy Note7 To Be Launched In India On 11 August

Samsung is going to launch their next flagship phone Galaxy Note7 today. The launch is held in New York and the company will be live streaming the event. Meanwhile, Samsung has sent out media invites for an event in Delhi for August 11 which is likely to be the launch of Note7 in India.

The event can be live streamed from the Samsung website. You can see the event on the GearVR headset as well.

According to the leaks and reports, the Galaxy Note7 will have a 5.7-inch QHD display. The phone will be launched with only one variant which is a departure from last year.

It will have a curved display with edges on both of the sides. The press renders from the leaker OnLeaks suggests that curves will be not as overwhelming as Galaxy S7.

Under the hood, Samsung Galaxy Note7 will either have Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or their own Octa-core Exynos processor. The phone will sport a 4 GB RAM. Some reports also suggest that it may have a 6 GB RAM.

Camera modules would similar to the ones in Galaxy S7 series. With the rear camera of 12 MP which would have f/1.7 aperture and OIS. The battery life has been a varying factor in multiple leaks. But the latest one being 3500 mAh. Samsung is opting for the USB C port rather than the microUSB for the first time.

The phone will be running on Android 6.0 with TouchWiz customization. Being one of the leading flagships of the year, this phone should get updated to Android Nougat 7.0 in coming months.

A tip from OnLeaks also reveals that the Korean smartphone giant will be launching a new version of Gear VR as well. This version will be able to support USB C connection. Earlier this year, LG launched a VR headset with LG G5 which can be tethered to the phone through USB C cable.
