After launching the LG G5 flagship phone in June, phone maker LG has made people take notice again by launching a dual-screen phone. LG X Screen, which is LG's offering in the sub-₹15,000 segment, was unveiled at an event in Delhi. The phone is priced at ₹12,990.
It has an always-on display on the top that shows time, notification, music control and more. The concept was introduced by LG in LG V10 last year and this year they are including the feature in their lower-end phones too. The best feature of the phone is its beautiful design.
LG X Screen also features the panic-button that has been mandated by the Indian government for the safety and security of women. The government had issued a directive stating that all the phones sold from 1 January 2017 should have a panic button. Initially, the authorities had insisted that the phones should come equipped with a physical button but after the phone makers expressed their reservation they retracted, saying that the phones could also have the equivalent software functionality.
LG X Screen's specifications do not compete with the phones in that range. The phone does have VoLTE (Voice over LTE capabilities).

LG X Screen will be running Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 which is good news considering that a lot of smartphone manufacturers are still opting for an older version of Android.
The phone will be available on Snapdeal from 20 July. Competition in this segment has heated up, with phone makers launching smartphones with higher specs and add-on services. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Moto G4 and LeEco Le 2 are among the highest selling phones in the market. LG will have to bank on its brand to sell the LG X Screen.
Recent reports also suggest that the company is going to fall short of their target shipment mark for LG G5. LG was hoping to sell 3-3.5 million units of their flagship phone but they will miss the target by a good half a million units. The phone has faced stiff competition from Samsung Galaxy S7 and Nexus 6P.
