We all know that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a social media fan. He uses Twitter, Facebook and Instagram heavily. From tour photos to tweets in different languages, he is quite popular all over the world. But did you know that his own app has a built-in social network?

The NaMo app which is available both on iOS and Android has a Twitter-like social network called 'My Network' inside. It allows you to follow all the ministers and even interact with other people on the app. But while signing up for the social network you have to give a lot of details.

In the form apart from you basic details, your phone number, email ID, your profession and your organization are mandatory to enter while joining the network. That's not it. You have to specify which state, district and city you are from.

The most intriguing thing about the app are the badges. You get different badges for achieving certain points. Those points can be earned by doing activities on the app. The activities include posting, commenting, take polls and more.

You get a beginner badge when you sign up on the app. 200 points earn you the 'Pro-active badge' and on 500 points you are 'The do-er'. However 5000 points earn you the title of 'The super fan'.

The ultimate badge is the 'Orange tick'. If you are active on Twitter you'd know that verified users of the social network get a blue tick. Here, however, the orange tick doesn't mean that the user is verified. It means that he is the ultimate fan. All the ministers on the social network already has an orange tick. It is not clear that when you can earn that badge.

According to ET, this feature was activated on the iOS app after Narendra Modi met Tim Cook in India last month. Later on, it was rolled out to the Android app as well.

"This is not a verification. We think as a recognition we must acknowledge people who are aggressive contributors to the App.This is PM's way of acknowledging their engagement with him via this App," Amit Malviya, BJP's IT head told ET.

Modi is the second most followed political leader on Facebook and Twitter with the current US president Barack Obama taking the top spot. Overall, Modi is the third most followed leader after Pope and Obama.
