MUMBAI -- A 32-year-old model yesterday filed a complaint of molestation against Bollywood singer Mika Singh at the suburban Versova police station.

An FIR under sections 354 (outraging woman's modesty), 323 (voluntary causing hurt) and 504 (intentional insult) of IPC was registered on the basis of the complaint, a senior police official said.

According to Mumbai Police sources, the accused and the victim were known to each other.

The victim went to Mika Singh's residence yesterday morning for some work. There was some dispute between them and allegedly some altercation took place between Mika and the victim.

The model used to visit Mika's house often, the officer said.

According to a NDTV report, Singh has denied the charges and filed a counter-complaint later in the evening, saying the model was trying to extort money from him.

He further told the police that the woman had demanded ₹5 crore from him and threatened to ruin his career if he did not pay, but he refused.

Police have not summoned Mika for recording his statement yet. The allegations of the victim are currently being investigated and the next course of action will be decided after primary investigation.
