Here's a piece of news that could well become the new 'outrage topic' — unless one chooses to be all chill about it.

Irrfan Khan, in a promotional event for his upcoming film Madaari (directed by Nishikant Kamat), drew attention to the striking similarities between its poster and the one for Rajinikanth-starrer Kabali, a Tamil action drama directed by Pa. Ranjith.

Both films are said to be releasing in mid-July, perhaps on the same day.

Here is the poster of Madaari.

And here is the poster of Kabali that is said to be inspired by it.

As is evident and has been mentioned everywhere (and can be double-checked with a little googling), this is a fan-made poster.

Nevertheless, Khan, who may have been led to believe it was the film's actual poster, didn't want to make a big deal out of it. In a jovial manner, he said, "Even I didn’t know that. We are small filmmakers, I saw that Rajinikanth-ji’s film stole the poster of our film. You see his film’s poster and see our film’s poster. No big deal about it. Watch his film and watch our film, too.”

Good advice, Irrfan. Here's some from us: next time, use this hot new website everyone seems to be talking about.
