Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has never seen Indian cricketer Virat Kohli play, but is apparently quite impressed with him in the studio.

The ace batsman recorded in Rahman's Chennai studio last week for the official anthem of the Premier Futsal League, a tournament that will be held in July. Kohli, who is brand ambassador for the league, rapped over a portion of the track, which is said to be "peppy and upbeat" and also possesses "an element of humour", reported Hindustan Times.

Rahman, who doesn't follow cricket at all, told HT that he'd "heard great things" about Kohli and that he was almost "pitch perfect" and "in tune". (wait, just how important are these things in the context of rapping?).

He further added: "We had a template for the song ready. These days, we can experiment a lot and do anything with the voice. So, currently, we are working on the mixing stage.”
