Smartphones serve varied purposes. Social networking, gaming, taking photos, making videos, watching films, listening to songs -- all this and much more depletes the phone's battery charge pretty fast. No wonder that one of life's constant concern now is finding a power plug to recharge our phones. On their part, smartphone makers have taken to including huge batteries in phones. Here are some phones that will last you through the day:

1. Asus Zenfone Max

Asus began making Zenfone series phones a couple of years ago. Asus Zenfone 2 was their most popular phone ever. After that, the phone maker came out with many variants of Zenfone, one of them being Max which comes with a strong>5000 mAh battery. Asus recently introduced a new version of the phone with Snapdragon 652 and the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The phone has a 5.5-inch, 720p display and 2 GB RAM. It costs ₹8,999.

2. Gionee Marathon M5 Plus

Chinese phone maker Gionee's claim to international fame was the Gionee Elife S7 which, at 5.5 mm, was the slimmest smartphone around. Since then, they have come out with more sleek bodied beauties along with the Gionee Marathon M5 Plus that has a huge 5020 mAh battery. It would be the biggest, if you don't count phablets. The phone runs on a MediaTek processor with 3 GB RAM and has a 6-inch full HD display. It can be yours for ₹26,999.

3. Lenovo Vibe P1

Released last year, the Vibe P1 is still one of the best phones in the mid-range segment, if you are looking for solid battery life. The phone has a 5.5-inch full HD display and a 4900 mAh battery. It offers Qualcomm quick charging 2.0 as well, so that you don't have to worry about keeping it connected to the charger for too long. It runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 615, which is not too old, and has 2 GB RAM. The 32 GB on-board storage is also something quite good. Vibe P1 will cost you ₹15,499.

4. Yu Yunicorn

Phone maker Yu is the child of Micromax's deal with Cyanogen, an open-source operating system for smartphones and tablet computers based on the Android mobile platform. Recently, Yu ended its deal with Cyanogen to use their software on its phones. Instead, they are using their homegrown OS on their first phone since the deal was called off. Yunicorn comes with a 4000 mAh battery and is Yu's newest bet to capture the mid-range market. Yunicorn has some cutting edge specs with MediaTek P10 processor and 4 GB RAM. The phone is loaded with unique software features and is priced at ₹13,999.

5. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3

Another phone with a strong 4000 mAh battery is Xiaomi's Redmi Note 3. Xiaomi phones are known for their great marriage of software and hardware and their good cameras. Redmi Note 3 has a 5.5-inch display, with a RAM option of 2 or 3 GB. The phone is priced at ₹9,999 and ₹11,999 depending on the variant. If you are partial to big screens you can wait for Mi Max launch on 22 June. It will come with a 4850 mAh battery.
