The second phase of the OnePlus online giveaway of Loop VR headsets was concluded in under a minute, with eager takers snapping it up on the Amazon site as soon as it was made available at 12 pm today.

The headsets will enable users to attend the virtual launch of OnePlus' flagship phone, OnePlus 3.

OnePlus is going to launch OnePlus 3 in India on 15 June, one day after its global launch. .

Several image and specification leaks of the phone have been doing rounds on the Internet. OnePlus 3 is likely to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 as the processor chip. The phone's images also suggest that it will have a full metal body as well as a 5.5 inch full HD display. The company has released a short teaser about its new product on YouTube.

A listing on Oppo mart suggests that OnePlus 3 will have a 16 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera, which is quite competitive by the industry standards of mid-range phones. According to reports and the Oppomart listing, the phone will have two variants, with 4 GB and 6 GB RAM each. The internal memory will include 32 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB options, which means that in all there will be 6 variants of the phone.

The price in the listing is given as $369, or roughly ₹25000. Given the phone's specs, which are very impressive, the pricing is attractive. In a departure, OnePlus has decided to go invite free for all their future products. OnePlus 3 will run on Oxygen OS based on Android Marshmallow. It will also face tough competition from the likes of Xiaomi Mi 5, Nexus 5X and Nextbit Robin.

Software has been a major issue for OnePlus. Both OnePlus 2 and Oneplus X had several bugs, that led to problems for users. The company has failed to deliver updates on time as well. The older phones are receiving Android 6.0 updates only now when the newer model is being launched and we are on the brink of the release of Android N. Perhaps OnePlus should take its cue from Google, which has decided that it will rank phone-makers based on the speed and quality of their updates speed and quality.
