Salman Khan Says He Felt 'Violated' By Having To Wear A 'Langot' For 'Sultan'

All bhai fans agree that Bollywood star Salman Khan has never shied away from stripping his shirt off and flexing those bulging muscles on screen. But for Sultan, director Ali Abbas Zafar made Khan do something that literally brought tears to his eyes: he made Khan wear a langot.

A langot or loincloth is the traditional Indian version of men's underwear, where a man drapes a long piece of cloth between and around his legs and tucks it in, to get the perfect fit.

And since Khan plays the role of a Haryanvi wrestler named Sultan, Zafar wanted him to look authentic.

But when the time came for Khan to walk out of his vanity van to shoot the scene, he was horrified to see that there was a crowd of over 5,000 people standing there.

"Now, I understand what the actress goes through when they wear bikinis on screen. When I was told I have to wear a langot, I thought I could do it. But when I reached there, we saw a crowd of 5,000 people and I was like, 'No way I am doing this.' As I was walking out of the vanity van, I was in tears...I felt violated," Khan told IANS.

Khan added that he walked out of the van wearing a lungi at first. "But when I went and removed the lungi people were like 'Haye haye'. It was the most difficult thing. Thank god people got used to the visual. People started taking pictures and putting it on websites," he told PTI.

Khan has recently been in news for his alleged relationship (which he later denied, sort of) with Romanian model-anchor Iulia Vantur.

Sultan, produced by Aditya Chopra for Yash Raj Films and directed by Zafar, also stars Anushka Sharma and Randeep Hooda. The film will hit the theatres on Eid this July.
