Clearly pleased with the Bharatiya Janata Party's impressive performance in Assam, senior party leader Ram Madhav on Thursday dedicated the victory to the people of the state, who "wanted a change".
"They voted overwhelmingly for change," said Madhav. "Assam's voters have showed their confidence in us by giving us 48-49 percent votes. We are very grateful to them," BJP's general secretary said.

"We promoted local leaders who have worked very hard and the results are showing. Assam has voted for change and we promise to work hard for the people," Madhav added. The BJP is set to form the government in Assam under the leadership of Sarbananda Sonowal.
