Motorola launched their two new phones Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus in India today. Moto G4 Plus will start at ₹13,499 and will be available on Amazon exclusively. Moto G4 will be available next month. Its price is yet to be announced.

The G4 Plus is a more advanced variant with a more powerful rear camera--16MP, compared with the G4's 13 MP--and a fingerprint censor.

Both phones feature a 5.5-inch full HD screen with Corning Gorilla glass. They run on a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor. And the battery life is 3,000 mAh, with turbo charging enabled.

Both the phones are 7.87-mm thick with a metallic design. The phones run on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 and Moto Pure UI. Moto G4 and G4 Plus are dual-SIM devices with VoLTE support (Voice over LTE). They both feature a 5-MP front camera.

Moto G4 comes in two variants--one has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory and the other has 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. Both devices supports memory expansions with MircoSD card up to 128 GB. The first variant is priced at ₹13,499 and the second one is a tad pricier at ₹14,999.

Motorola has found remarkable success in recent years in India, after e-commerce changed the rules for phone retailing in the country. All the iterations of their G series have sold well. The previous phone in the series, Moto G3, had record sales with half a million devices sold in just 47 days. Later, a more powerful version of the phone , Moto G3 Turbo, was also launched. Prices of both of the editions were dropped before the Moto G4 launch.

There is a lot of speculation about Motorola's next flagship, Moto X, as well. The phone might be a 5.5-inch device with waterproofing protection with a new flatter design.
