Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that BSNL was offering 20 GB 3G data plan for ₹50. The error is regretted. Read more here.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limite (BSNL) has taken a major step to attract customers by introducing a cheap 3G data plan in which it offers users 20 GB of 3G data for just ₹50.

BSNL has pushed this plan in order to gain turf in the ever fledging data war. The telecom company has also given a benefit to users by letting four more users share this plan. The users can be anywhere in India to avail this benefit. The primary users who register on this BSNL portal will pay the whole amount while other need not to pay any amount to use the Internet services.

This service is subsidized by the Narendra Modi government to push the 'Digital India' scheme and make the internet available to more users at affordable rates. The other telecom operators are offering data at an average of ₹200 for 1 GB data. The company hopes that this scheme will surely attract a lot of users because of the pricing and sharing services.

"This scheme would end up benefitting people from lower economic strata who are not able to afford mobile internet services. It is part of government’s agenda to push achieve 100 per cent internet access in the nation. The scheme would readily be availed by urban families as one internet package would be sufficient for all the users," said BSNL General Manager Ram Shabd Yadav to India.com.

BSNL has already targeted to connect 1 lakh panchayats with high-speed broadband. They are also launching 4G services in 14 circles very soon.

In India, a lot of states are offering budget Internet solutions as well. Tamil Nadu is offering broadband services starting from ₹₹₹ ₹299 per month. While the Andhra Pradesh government is offering Internet with 15 mbps speed at ₹149.
