Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan wished his son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai on their ninth wedding anniversary and called the occasion a day of 'joy and happiness', not just for the couple but for 'the elders, the families' as well.

Aishwarya and Abhishek had tied the knot on 20 April, 2007 in a lavish ceremony in Mumbai. They welcomed their first child, daughter Aaradhya in November 2011.

"This bond remains with us throughout. It then flourishes into the next generation that comes along and the next and the next and the next... (sic)," Amitabh wrote on his Tumblr blog late Tuesday night.

According to FilmiBeat, Abhishek and Aishwarya will celebrate their ninth wedding anniversary at home with daughter Aradhya, as Abhishek is still recovering from a serious back injury.

After a lukewarm response to Jazbaa, her first film after her maternity hiatus, Aishwarya will now be seen in Omung Kumar's upcoming film Sarbjit.
