Colonel Nizammudin was a close aide of late freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose and had even played a pivotal role in forming the Azad Hind Fauj. He had created history then, and he created history again.

At an age of 116 years, Nizammudin has opened a bank account.

Nizammudin is a resident of Mubarakpur in the Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. He was Netaji's driver from 1943 to 1945, and he still uses the INA salutation of “Jai Hind."

In fact, the name "colonel" was given to him by Netaji.

In order to open a joint account with his 107-year-old wife, Nizamuddin alias Saifuddin had furnished his voter identity card to the State Bank of India that states he was born in 1900.

Nizammudin is a big supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

When Modi was campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections, he met Col. Nizammudin. "He touched my feet and I gave him my blessing,” Nizammudin had said in this interview.
