Dipa Karmakar on Monday created history by becoming the first Indian female gymnast to qualify for the Olympics. The 22-year-old put up a strong performance at the Final Qualifier and Olympic Test Event in Rio de Janeiro.

According to Mashable, the Tripura-based Karmakar is one of the few female gymnasts to regularly land on her feet while doing the artistic gymnastics vault called the Produnova. She has also logged the world’s highest score on the Produnova, considered one of the most dangerous vaults in gymnastics.

Check out Karmakar in action as she runs, springs, jumps and lands with swift, easy and practiced grace:

Karmakar had created history by becoming the first woman gymnast to win a bronze medal in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014. She then became the first Indian woman gymnast to feature in the finals of World Championships in November 2015.
