Twitter Is Having Too Much Fun Because Gurgaon Has Been Named Gurugram

Twitter Is Having Too Much Fun Because Gurgaon Has Been Named Gurugram
.

On Tuesday, the Haryana Government decided to rename the Delhi suburb Gurgaon as Gurugram. It's said to be the place's historical name. It is believed that some villages in the area were gifted by the Pandavas and Kauravas to Guru Dronacharya as per the ancient epic Mahabharata. Mewat district has been renamed Nuh.

"Haryana is a historic land of the Bhagwat Gita and Gurgaon had been a centre of learning," a Haryana government spokesman said.

And Twitter thought it was all rather funny.
