Indian cricketers are getting saucier by the day.
After Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the captain of the Twenty20 Indian national cricket team, shut down an Australian reporter who asked him about his retirement, IPL Gujarat Lions skipper Suresh Raina went a step ahead by cross-questioning a journalist's seemingly innocent question about his preferred coach.
Since the Indian cricket team's director Ravi Shastri's contract came to an end after the ICC World Twenty20 and the Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) is looking for a new coach, a journalist asked Raina whether he would prefer an Indian coach or foreign one.
Raina replied archly:
“Are you comfortable with your own wife or someone else’s?”
Raina's response, who was speaking at a press meet in Mumbai, made the entire room burst into laughter.
However, according to IBNLive.com, Raina also added, on a more serious note, that the appointment of the national coach was BCCI's job and that he would be happy with any coach the Board selected.
