WATCH: 'Jungle Jungle Baat Chali Hai' In New Avatar For 'The Jungle Book'

This New Version Of 'Jungle Jungle Baat Chali Hai' Will Leave You Tearfully Nostalgic

If you grew up in India in the '90s, you know the theme song to the Hindi-dubbed version of the TV animated series The Jungle Book — 'Jungle Jungle Baat Chali Hai' — by heart. Without question.

Now, to promote the upcoming Hollywood version of Rudyard Kipling's classic tale, directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Chef), a new version of that classic tune has been released by the makers.

The tune's original composer and lyricist, Vishal Bhardwaj and Gulzar, have recreated the song with a fresh set of young voices: Jia Wadkar, Yuvika Chaudhury, Abhirup Dass, Vatsala Mishra, Shaksham Karia, Rashi Salil Harmalkar, Avishkar Yogesh Khot and Oushnik Majumdar.

The new version features additional lyrics and orchestration, while keeping the essence of the original intact (listen to it below).

SO EXCITED FOR THIS MOVIE.

The Jungle Book releases in India on April 8, a week ahead of its release in the United States. It introduces Neel Sethi as Mowgli and featured voices in its English version include Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johannsson, and Idris Elba. In Hindi, voices have been dubbed by Irrfan Khan (who can be heard at the end of the video, as the voice of Baloo the bear), Priyanka Chopra, Om Puri, and Nana Patekar.
