Bomb alerts were issued for five Jet Airways flights on Tuesday in India after the airline operator’s call centre received an anonymous call saying bombs were planted on its planes even as rescue operations were continuing in Brussels hours after multiple terrorist strikes killed at least 34 people in Belgium’s capital.

Four of the five Jet Airways flights for which bomb alerts were issued, landed safely while its Delhi-Dehradun flight was kept in an isolation bay at the airport for the bomb squad to arrive and search it.

The flights were Delhi-Chennai, Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi-Dehradun, Delhi-Gorakhpur and Delhi Chennai flights.

Meanwhile, two cabin crew members of Jet Airways were injured in the blasts at the Brussels airport, the hub for the airline in Europe where four of its flights land daily.

Security has been beefed up in major Indian airports after a high alert was issued following the terror attacks at Brussels airport and a metro station in Belgium that killed dozens of people and injured at least 80.
