WATCH: 12 Filmmakers Have A Beautiful Message On Indo-Pak Unity

Twelve filmmakers, six each from India and Pakistan, have joined hands to establish a peace initiative between the two countries to mark 70 years of Partition, a watershed event in the history of the subcontinent that uprooted millions. The directors are appealing for unity with a simple, yet powerful message: change doesn’t happen from just one side, it takes two to make a difference.

Haath milao, it takes two

Gale lag jao, it takes two

Mein aur Tu, it takes two.

The initiative to bring these directors on a common platform, aka Zeal for Unity, has been undertaken by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) to inspire audiences from both countries to encourage comradeship.

This video is just the beginning. The filmmakers, including Aparna Sen, Mehreen Jabbar, Bejoy Nambiar, Sabiha and Sumar, and Ketan Mehta earlier met at the Attari-Waggah border, and are planning to launch 12 movies that highlight different, but meaningful situations and stories. According to a spokesperson from ZEEL, these films will be eventually be showcased in both countries, and cast on Zee, by August 15.
