Watch: Can You Tell Apart Ordinary Parents And Those Of Kids With Special Needs?

Parenting is a hard enough job at the best of times, and when you have a kid who is differently-abled, the challenges are that much greater. But are there any fundamental differences between what ordinary parents and those with special needs kids feel for their children?

To honour 21 March, a trio of film-makers and writers who call themselves Cause Effect have launched a short film that attempts to challenge stereotypical perceptions of families of children with special needs.

“Disability is not something to be afraid of or to be sympathized with,” says actor turned producer Priyanka Bose. “We need to embrace that disability is normal… through the film we aim to dispel the widely held misbelief that parents of children with special needs are unhappy and depressed.”

Produced by Bose, Megha Ramaswamy and Vikrant Jauhari, the video carries a beautiful and potent message at the very end. Watch it below:
