Appalled at a morphed image featuring her face pasted on a pornographic photograph, noted Malayalam actress Jyothi Krishna lashed out on social media, saying that the face may be hers but that the body in question belonged to the mother or sister of the image’s creator.
"Hi friends, some boy/girl belonging to a good family has been circulating a morphed photo with my head and his/her's mother's or sister's body through WhatsApp. I have nothing else to say to the one who has created this morphed image because his/her attempt to do something he/she wished to just failed this time. I could see the immense support of many of my friends, who messaged me regarding this. I am so thankful to all my well-wishers who stood with me and supported me."
Refusing to be “embarrassed” by the situation, Krishna told BBC, "I was first alerted to the image when a good friend, who is also a top movie director, first notified me of its existence. Then several of my friends and relatives started messaging me to say it was being shared widely on social media."
Last year the Kerala police had arrested two teenage boys for creating a fake video of Papanasam actress Asha Sarath with a film producer and sharing it on WhatsApp.
Recently, cricketer Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma's offensively photoshopped images were being shared on social media.
