BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi, who was accused of hitting Uttarakhand police horse Shaktimaan, has been arrested today. BJP leader Pradeep Bora was arrested yesterday for attacking the horse.
Meanwhile, the horse's leg had to be amputated after doctors found that the animal may die from the injury caused in the attack.
Reports suggest that Union minister for women and child development Maneka Gandhi has take strong exception to Joshi's behaviour and had instructed the Uttarakhand DGP to not spare the accused.
Gandhi had also commented that Joshi had tainted the entire party with his alleged act of brutality.
"Bora was a part of the protest march led by BJP Mussoorie MLA Ganesh Joshi, which was agitating against alleged cases of corruption, when the horse was injured. Bora was arrested from Haldwani while Joshi has also been booked for attacking the horse," reports IBN Live.
On March 14, during an agitation led by Joshi against Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat, a mob attacked the mounted police force which was deployed to bring the situation under control. Videos released from the incident show the crowd running towards Shaktimaan following which he falls.
Another video that was being circulated shows Joshi violently hitting something with a stick. He now stands accused of hitting the horse and breaking its legs.
