Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's AOL Gets Permission To Host World Cultural Festival On Yamuna Bank

The National Green Tribunal on Wednesday (NGT) gave Art of Living (AOL) the go ahead for its World Cultural Festival on the Yamuna riverbed.

NGT also asked AOL to develop the entire area in question into a biodiversity park.

Besides this, AOL has also been asked to deposit the environmental compensation before the start of the programme.

NGT has also asked AOL to give an undertaking by Thursday that enzymes won’t be released into the Yamuna river and no further degradation of environment will take place.

The NGT has told the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to pay Rs.1 lakh and the Delhi Pollution Control Committee to pay Rs.5 lakh as fines for not their discharging statutory functions.

A fine of Rs 5 crore as environment compensation has been slapped on AOL Foundation.
