In the world of technological innovations, men might have the numbers but women have not only caught up, but also led from the front, often in skewed working spaces. From the first programmer in the world to designers of operating systems, there are many incredible women from the tech world who made a huge difference.
Recently, a lot of companies are taking up initiatives to include more women in the tech world. One of the very famous collective is Black Girls Code. Another well-known initiative is Women Tech Makers sponsored by Google. San Fransisco based non-profit organization Girl In Tech also started their Indian operation this January.

Countess Augusta Ada Lovelace (1815-1852), English mathematician and writer. The daughter of Byron and friend of Charles Babbage, she devised the programme for Babbage's analytical Engine. She is often referred to as the first computer programmer ever.

Shakuntala Devi was known as a human computer. She had an amazing ability to carry out difficult mathematical calculations mentally. She holds a place in Guinness book of world records for multiplying two 13-digit numbers in 28 seconds.
