MUMBAI -- He is known for his comic roles but actor Jaaved Jaaferi will be seen playing the character of a RAW agent in his upcoming film Ishq Forever.
The actor said it was intriguing for him to essay a "serious" character in the romantic drama.
"I will be seen playing a RAW agent, who is deployed to protect the daughter of the Prime Minister of India and what was intriguing for me was that I play a very serious character," Jaaved said in a statement.
"I will be shown teaming up with my ex-wife (Lisa Ray) for this mission, and the uncomfortable situation that arises because of this is another plot that runs simultaneously with the love story of the lead pair," he added.
The Dhamaal (2007) actor will be seen mostly wearing slick three-piece suits in the film, which stars newcomers Krishna Chaturvedi and Ruhi Singh.
Directed by Sameer Sippy and produced by Ajay Shah, Himanshu Gandhi and Shabeer Boxwala, Ishq Forever is scheduled to release on 19 February.
