Now that the New York Public Library has announced that they’ve made it possible to access their digital collection -- “no permission required, no hoops to jump through,” you can download and use the high-resolution images. All of them.

There's a huge collection of pictures in the archive. It provides a valuable glimpse into the cultural and socio-economic universe of Indians in 17th and 18th centuries.
