Snapchat has launched a new feature in its new update that allows you to share a unique URL with your username with your friends.

To access this feature, go to your home/camera screen and swipe down and click on the ‘add friend’ button. Select the option 'share username' from the menu. Your URL would look like

This will give more freedom to the user to share the username with people on the web easily. On clicking, the URL users will be redirected to the app where they’ll start following you. If they don’t have the URL then the browser window will open prompting them to download the application.

Earlier Snapchat had introduced Snapcodes where users can click a little GIF of themselves and share the snap code in the form of the QR code. You can scan the photo with Snapcode or load the photo to add that user.

Now you can add friends via username, Snapcodes, nearby people, phone book and the username sharing.
