According to the report, the Raanjhanaa actor will be playing the lead in the movie adaptation of the French best-sellerThe Extraordinary Journey Of the Fakir Who Got Trapped In The Ikea Wardrobe, by Romain Puértolas. The whimsical, adventurous novel about a fakir named Ajatashatru Oghash Rathod was first published in 2014 and became a huge hit in France and around the world.
The movie adaptation will be helmed by Iranian-origin graphic novelist and filmmaker Marjane Satrapi, best known for the seminal Persepolis books and subsequent film adaptations. Aside from Thurman, best known for Pulp Fiction (1994) and the Kill Bill movies (2003), the film also stars Alexandra Daddario, known for her roles in the TV show True Detective (season 1) and San Andreas (2015).
