VARANASI -- A bus carrying differently-abled people hit a pole near Varanasi injuring 22 people on Friday. The people were on their way to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an event where he will distribute aids to over nine thousand 'divyaang' people.

Prime Minister Modi is expected to talk to five differently-abled children who have recently gone through cochlear implant surgeries. The Prime Minister will also personally hand over the artificial limbs, tricycles and other equipment to some of the beneficiaries.

More than 350 buses of U.P. Roadways have been engaged to collect the beneficiaries from their doorsteps to attend the ceremony.
