Actor Kabir Bedi's surprise announcement of marriage to his long-time partner Parveen Dusanj at his 70th birthday was met with explosive reactions. For example, Pooja, his daughter from his first marriage, promptly tweeted that the "evil stepmother" has arrived in her life. She later deleted the less than charitable tweet. But most of his friends wished him well as he started his married life with Dusanj.

One of Bedi's friends went a little overboard.

Actor Gulshan Grover, Bollywood's timeless baddie who was there at Bedi’s birthday celebration, wished him 10 more marriages.

“I admire him and he has done some tremendous work, he is someone I look up to and he is the nicest person in the show business. Wishes come from heart. I wish him all the very best and I wish him 10 more marriages," he said.

While we have nothing against multiple marriages if both partners are willing (there can never be too much of love), wishing Bedi 10 more, right at the beginning of his fourth marriage is quite ambitious!

Bedi's first wife was model-turned-Odissi dancer Protima Bedi, with whom he had two children Pooja and Siddharth. He later married British-born fashion designer Susan Humphreys and the couple had one son Adam, who made his Bollywood debut with the thriller 'Hello? Kaun Hai!'.

Kabir divorced Susan and tied the knot with TV and radio presenter Nikki Bedi. They had no children and split in 2005.

Meanwhile, Pooja tweeted: "Every fairy tale has a wicked witch or an evil step mother. Mine just arrived."

Bedi, unperturbed by his friend's enthusiastic greeting, has thanked his close ones for their wishes.

“I wish to thank every single person who has loved me, wished me, supported me and wanted the best for me. I hope I live up to their expectation and believe me the best is yet to come,” Bedi told his friends.
