ISRO Successfully Launches 6 Singapore Satellites Into Space

NEW DELHI -- The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV)-C29 on Wednesday successfully launched six Singapore satellites from spaceport at Sriharikotta today.

The rocket with the lift-off mass of 227.6 tons has undertaken its journey in a core-alone configuration as the total payload weight is just above 600 kilograms. This is the sixth fully commercial launch by ISRO, which has put into orbits 51 foreign satellites successfully so far.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the scientists for successful launch of six satellites today.

The launch, coming at a time when we mark 50 years of India-Singapore ties is significant. India cherishes strong relations with Singapore.

Of the six satellites, TeLEOS-1 is the primary satellite weighing 400 kilograms whereas the other five satellites include two micro-satellites and three nano-satellites.

TeLEOS-1 is the first Singapore commercial earth observation satellite.

Antrix Corporation Ltd, the commercial arm of ISRO, has provided launch services in PSLV for 51 customer satellites from 20 countries so far.
