NEW DELHI -- Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday said that if India will join the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) only if the United Nations approves a resolution and there is a UN mission against ISIS.
Speaking to media on the sidelines after the Vijay Divas function, Parrikar said that there has no been change in India's stand in this issue and that India has been sharing intelligence and if required it will enhance the sharing.
He added that the Defence Ministry will soon submit a detailed report to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issues he raised during Combined Commanders Conference in Kerala yesterday including Defence Management.
"In a world of rapid changes, India faces familiar threats and new ones. Our challenges cover land, sea and air at the same time. It includes the full range, from terrorism to conventional threat to a nuclear environment. Our responsibilities are no longer confined to our borders and coastlines. They extend to our interests and citizens, spread across a world of widespread and unpredictable risks," the Prime Minister said addressing the three service chiefs, and top commanders of the armed forces from onboard warship INS Vikramaditya.
