Parliament To Discuss Intolerance And Constitution During Winter Session Today

NEW DELHI -- The Rajya Sabha will resume discussion on 'Commitment to Constitution' while the Lok Sabha will discuss the issues related to intolerance in the country today during the Winter Session of the Parliament.

The discussion on Constitution in Rajya Sabha is being held as part of Dr. Ambedkar's 125th Birth Anniversary Celebrations.

Earlier, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu had appealed for a mature debate and discussions to the members of the Parliament and asserted the government's commitment to the Constitution.

Parliament on Thursday honoured Dr B.R. Ambedkar by holding a discussion on his contributions, which was a part of the Government's decision to celebrate November 26th as Constitution day.

Discussions on Babasaheb's contribution was started by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh followed by Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
