NEW DELHI -- Congress President Sonia Gandhi met Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan this evening.

Priyanka Gandhi was also present at the 45-minute meeting which was described as a private visit.

Sources said it was a purely personal visit as Mahajan's granddaughter wanted to meet Priyanka.

In August this year, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan had suspended 25 Congress MPs for five days for disrupting the functioning of the house by sloganeering.
