As Tamil Nadu continues to experience heavy rains, life in capital Chennai has come to a standstill with flooded streets and severely-affected transport services. Chennai rains have claimed 40 lives so far.

An independent weather blogging community from Chennai, tweeting under the handle @ChennaiRains, has been tweeting a series of photos that show submerged roads, stalled cars and fallen trees.
