MUMBAI -- Actor Shahid Kapoor has began working on his next collaboration with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj Rangoon.

The period drama will see the 34-year-old actor teaming up for the first time with Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan.

Shahid earlier revealed that his new heavy-beard look is for his role in the love-triangle.

"Time to prep for #Rangoon. Miles to go before I sleep .

Keep it real you all. And believe. Because you can," Shahid tweeted.

The actor has kept mum on the details of his character, saying it is not the right time to talk about it.

Rangoon is Shahid's third on-screen outing with Vishal after 2009's Kaminey and last year's Haider, both of which are considered the actor's career-defining movies.

Shahid said his heavy beard look, which he was sporting during the promotions of Shaandaar is for Rangoon.
