Nearly 22 years after Yash Chopra's Darr released, reports say that a remake of the film is on the cards.

The 1993 film, which starred Shah Rukh Khan as an obsessive and violent stalker besotted with Juhi Chawla's character, won a National Award and was declared a 'super hit' at the box-office. It won Khan much acclaim for his performance and cemented his image as an unconventional anti-hero (this was to change two years later with the massive success of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge).

Now, TV actor Karanvir Bohra is all set to reprise that iconic role in the proposed remake, which is all set to roll this December. The film will reportedly be shot in Mumbai and Manali. TV director Lalit Mohan (Iss Pyaar Ko Main Kya Naam Doon) is said to be at the helm.

Bohra, 33, has regularly appeared in negative roles on shows such as Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Dil Se Di Dua... Saubhagyavati Bhava?, aside from reality shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6. He has also appeared in films such as Kismat Konnection (2008) and Mumbai 125 KM (2014). He is also a trained kathak dancer.
