What is it that makes kids smile these days? Chocolate, stuffed toys, X-Box One or a PlayStation 4?

Whatever might that elusive answer be, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to have hit upon a very funny, yet adorable way to make little kids smile.

Recently at a meeting with the new Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, he playfully pulled the PM's little daughter Ella-Grace Margaret's ears, which made her smile prettily during the (otherwise) official visit.

It was also great meeting your daughter, whom you had woken up early that day. Best wishes. :) @JustinTrudeaupic.twitter.com/nXZeu0BfUc

This is not the first time that PM Modi has posed for a photograph with a child, while pulling his or her ears. Often, they have a hard time keeping a straight face.

Though it is usually associated as a form of punishment for kids in many households and schools, it seems that the children enjoy this little action by the PM. Instead of being afraid, it's almost as if it's a secret joke.

Official functions, charity events or gatherings big and small — PM Modi sure knows how to keep photographers busy.

And it's not always just the ears that the PM favours.
