Lalu Prasad Yadav's Sons' Age Blunder Leaves RJD Red-Faced

Figure This: Lalu Prasad Yadav's Younger Son Is Older Than His Elder One

This is a quandary that will baffle even an experienced mathematician. Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo (RJD) Lalu Prasad Yadav has two sons — the younger one is older than the elder one.

The gaffe came out in public when both the sons Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Pratap Yadav filed affidavits while submitting their nominations for the upcoming Bihar elections.

As per the affidavit filed by Yadav's elder son Tej Pratap, while submitting his nomination from Mahua Assembly seat in Vaishali district, his age is 25 years. On the other hand, the affidavit filed by younger son Tejashwi Prasad shows his age as 26 years. He is a candidate from Raghopur assembly seat, also in Vaishali district.

Although RJD leaders told Hindustan Times that the mistake in Tej Pratap's affidavit could be an oversight, this incident has left many in the party red-faced.

However, when India Today contacted Lalu Prasad and his sons regarding the confusion, the RJD leaders refused to comment but admitted that Tej Pratap was the elder of the two brothers. The article also added that Lalu Pratap's opponents have demanded an inquiry into the matter.

Interestingly, Lalu Prasad was present on both the occasions when his sons were filing their nominations. While Tej Pratap filed his nomination on Monday, Tejashwi Pratap had submitted his papers on October 3.

According to PTI, Tejashwi Pratap's affidavit shows his total movable assets close to Rs 1.41 crore, while Tej Pratap has movable assets of around Rs 1.12 crore.

Tej Pratap passed intermediate in 2010 from Bihar School Examination Board. He calls himself a 'social worker' and says business is his profession. Tejashwi Pratap, passed Class 9 in 2006 from DPS RK Puram school, New Delhi. He claims to be a cricketer, businessman and social worker.
